About JAYLAN

Beginnings
I was born near Paris into an Italian family of music lovers. There was always a record playing: pop, rock, jazz or classical music.
As a child, I was often glued to the TV, so I soaked up all sorts of music from TV series, films and programmes of every kind.
At the age of 14, I taught myself to play the guitar and soon began writing my first songs.
Songs
At the age of 18, I formed a rock band in which I was the singer, guitarist and songwriter. After two years, I spent three months recording demos, which I then sent out and which caught the attention of Hubert Blanc-Francard (alias ‘Boom Bass’), who was artistic director at Polydor at the time. He gave me access to the label’s studio to record songs, and as well as having a fantastic experience, it was there that I discovered computer-assisted music, which proved to be the decisive factor in my move towards composing film scores.
Music for films, stage performances & video games
I became a member of LEMA, an association of composers, through which I took part in the creation of themed albums designed to provide musical accompaniment for audiovisual productions, alongside other composers. At the same time, I have worked on music for corporate films, special events, theatre productions, video games and a radio programme.
I subsequently composed music for short films, notably « Super-heros Blues », a series of stop-motion animated films. This series won 12 awards at short film festivals, including a Grand Prix from the jury, as well as 12 nominations. It was selected for the educational programme at the Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival, featured in press articles (Télérama, Sud-Ouest, La République) and was broadcast on television (Canal+, C8) and screened at the Grand Palais as part of the exhibition “Des jouets et des hommes”.
More recently, I have composed music for independent video games and documentary films, as well as animated e-cards for an e-commerce website, adapting my style each time to the context and the specific requirements of the given format.
Style
I have always been naturally drawn to orchestral music, following in the footsteps of my ‘masters’ (Ennio Morricone, Bernard Herrmann and John Williams), although I do not limit myself to this genre.
I adapt to the specific needs of each production, always aiming to emphasise the emotions evoked by the images.
Strengths
Creative, dynamic and enthusiastic, I approach every new project with total commitment, always ready to give my very best with energy and freshness, and to adapt to the project’s requirements.
